Day 3: Write like a pro- Three things no one told you about writing

It’s the last day of this class. Have you been taking notes? If not, grab your pen and paper. Be sure to take notes.

Have you ever been told that your work did not meet the said “standards”? I know that feeling of rejection because I’ve felt it too.

Before I tell you why: let me put out this disclaimer/PSA:

As you grow and climb the ladder in your writing career, clients will demand more from you, and sometimes, what you have to offer will be less than what they need. Get used to rejection, at least until you receive global recognition for being the world’s best writer (a Nobel prize, probably).

If you’ve ever been rejected because of the inferior quality of your writing, working on these three things can level up your writing:

Headlines

Your headline is like the first impression of your article. There is a reason why magazines and blog posts focus 70% of their SEO energy on their headlines and have them in bold, huge fonts.

Your headline gives your readers the first reason why they should spend their valuable time reading your content. You either lose or win the battle to get readers to read your work at the headline.

Your headline should make them want to read your content, even if they weren’t interested in it. It should be magnetic - to attract your readers. Here are two do’s and don’ts of a great headline:
